Afternoon everybody so b1-b2 are not really going to be an accurate experiment with only 2 participants so I'm starting/started my 2nd attempt at this experiment..52 random bag seed in breathable material in a ziploc for 14 days, burp the bag 1-2 times a day and replace the banana skin and paper towel with fresh ones every 3 days... In 14 days I going to plant them all into solo cups for this experiment.. The 31/8/18 is day 14 for planting day guys, until then hopefully I don't lose any vanishing seeds or mold or such....Store in a cool dark place. Afternoon guys n girls I came across this method on another forum, the person who originally attempted this is a really wonderful lady who does so much for others and I came across it in another thread I follow on the low and slow curing method - in a fridge.So this is the gist of it.I know, I know, lagging on pg 11 ms.Sue, would you care to explain this a bit more please....:thanks:@Smeegol, forgive me for being so late to this. :5: " Ripening fruit produces ethylene gas, which can be used to treat regular seeds to assure they express as females. Banana skins are excellent sources of this valuable gas.It takes two weeks to make this work, so plan accordingly.Wrapping the banana skin in a paper towel or parchment paper will keep down the chance of mold developing.Making your seeds female* wrap the banana peel* place wrapped peel and seeds you're treating in a plastic bag* date the bag* place in a cool, dark place where it won't be disturbed* open daily to air the seeds off, to keep seeds from molding* change out the banana peel every 3 days* remove and plant on day 14It has a high rate of success. Both times I've used it the seeds were obviously males, and both expressed female.
